Lendlease appoints Lianne Buck to board ahead of restructure
The news: Real estate giant Lendlease has appointed experienced non-executive Lianne Buck to its board.
The numbers: Buck will join Lendlease as a non-executive director on 7 July.
The context: She is currently on the boards of investment company Argo Investments, property investor Charter Hall Retail REIT, social services group St George Community Housing and energy business AusNet Services.
She has previously served on the boards of ISPT, Spark Infrastructure, Australian Pacific Airports Corporation and Utilities Trust of Australia.
Buck has also held executive roles at NSW Treasury Corporation, Westpac, Hastings Fund Management and Macquarie Group.
Lendlease chair John Gillam said Buck's appointment comes in advance of a "further evolution" of the board's composition and size across the next six to 18 months.
Last year, Lendlease unveiled its strategy to offload billions of dollars worth of assets from its international operations, simplify its management structure and undertake cost cuts.
What they said: "Our objective is to ensure the board is best positioned to steward a more streamlined and simplified Lendlease Group, and well skilled to oversee a discplined approach to the strong growth opportunities before us," Gillam said.
