Liontown Resources reports 17% revenue jump as output climbs
The news: Lithium miner Liontown Resources reported a 17% increase in revenue for the March quarter, as production and sales of spodumene concentrate both rose.
The numbers: Concentrate production rose 12% to 95,709 dry metric tonnes (dmt) quarter over quarter, with sales up 15% to 93,940 dmt.
Revenue climbed to $104 million from $89 million in the previous quarter.
The context: The quarter saw Liontown begin commercial production at its flagship Kathleen Valley process plant. The company said preparation for the start of underground production progressed as planned, with the first stoping blast occurring on schedule earlier this month.
