Lovisa to defend class action over alleged staff underpayment

The news: Jewellery and accessories retailer Lovisa will defend class action litigation against the company over alleged underpayment of staff.

The context: The lawsuit, filed to the Federal Court in Melbourne on 23 January, is being led by Adero Law.

The underpayment allegations cover a period from 23 January 2019 to 23 January 2025.

Lovisa said it takes its Fair Work obligations and Lovisa Enterprise Agreements of 2014 and 2022 "very seriously, including obligations to pay overtime, and has processes in place to monitor compliance with employment laws".
