Mark Johnson joins Orica board as non-executive director

The news: Orica has appointed Mark Johnson as an independent non-executive director, effective 1 July.

The context: The company said Johnson brings a range of executive experience spanning engineering, resources, property and consumer goods, alongside financial and professional services.

Johnson currently serves as a non-executive director of SGH Limited, Goodman Group, Aurecon, Metcash and Sydney Airport, and is a council member at UNSW Sydney.

Prior to this, Johnson served as the chief executive officer of PricewaterhouseCoopers from 2008 to 2012.

What they said: “Mark’s deep financial and accounting skills, as well as his experience across a range of sectors, will be an asset to the board and our audit and risk committee,” Orica chair Vik Bansal said.
