The news: Health insurer Medibank has announced that long-standing non-executive directors David Fagan and Linda Nicholls will retire at the company's annual general meeting on 19 November.

The context: Fagan and Nicholls, who both joined the board in 2014, are set to be replaced by Jacqueline Hey and Lisa McIntyre, who will stand for election as board-endorsed non-executive director candidates.

Hey is currently a non-executive director of OFX Group and Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation. She has previously been chair and non-executive director of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank and a non-executive director of Qantas.

McIntyre is a non-executive director of Fisher & Paykel, Studiosity, Baymatob, Nanosonics and the University of Sydney. She has previously held non-executive director roles at HCF Group, I-MED, GenesisCare and the Garvan Institution of Medical Research.

What they said: "Jacquie's depth of experience in consumer businesses, financial services and technology and Lisa's in health, insurance and technology would be a valuable addition to the Board's mix of skills, experience and expertise," said Medibank chair Mike Wilkins.
