Megaport appoints Jon Gidney as non-executive director

The news: Jon Gidney has been appointed as a non-executive director of Megaport, effective 29 May, succeeding Grant Dempsey as chair of the Audit and Risk committee.

The context: The company said Gidney brings over 30 years’ experience in corporate finance and capital markets to the position. He currently serves as a non-executive director of Dexus Funds and Cettire, and is a member of the Australian Takeovers Panel.

He previously spent over a decade at JPMorgan Australia as head of M&A.

What they said: “Jon’s appointment further strengthens our board’s technical financial oversight and governance capabilities, and we look forward to his contribution as chair of the Audit and Risk committee,” Megaport chair Melinda Snowden said.
