Mercury CFO to step down in 2025
The news: NZ power company Mercury in on the hunt for a new chief financial officer, after stalwart William Meek gave his two years' notice.
The numbers: Meek has been with Mercury for three decades, the company said, serving the past 15 years as CFO. Mercury shares were trading flat on Tuesday morning at $6.
The context: Meek's replacement has not been found but a Mercury spokesman said the company was pleased to have time to ensure a "seamless transition".
What they said: "William has made a huge contribution to the company's success, in particular the consistent performance since the Initial Public Offering and the successful Tilt Renewables and Trustpower retail transactions," a Mercury spokesman said in a statement.
