Monadelphous inks $300m service contract deal with Rio Tinto

The news: Perth-based engineering company Monadelphous Group has inked a long-term maintenance services contract with Rio Tinto valued at around $300 million in aggregate over five years.

The context: Under the contract, Monadelphous will provide fixed plant and shutdown services to deliver generalist mechanical services across Rio Tinto's iron ore operations in Western Australia.

What they said: "We are delighted to continue supporting Rio Tinto's Pilbara iron ore operations, where Monadelphous has provided services for more than 30 years," Monadelphous managing director Zoran Bebic said.

"The contract further strengthens Monadelphous' position as a leading provider of maintenance services to the resources sector."
