Monadelphous inks $380m CS Energy contract for Queensland power plant
The news: Engineering group Monadelphous has signed a contract with CS Energy, valued at approximately $380 million for works associated with the construction of the Brigalow Peaking Power Plant located in Queensland.
The context: The contract entails the construction of the power plant and the installation of 12 aeroderivative gas turbine generators with a combined capacity of 400 megawatts. Work is scheduled to commence in the second half of 2026 and is projected to be completed by early 2029.
The company said once the works are fully operational, the peaking gas plant will deliver reliable energy to more than 150,000 homes during peak demand periods, while supporting approximately 300 jobs during construction.
What they said: “Monadelphous has proven track record in delivering large-scale energy construction projects and is proud to continue contributing to critical energy infrastructure across Australia,” managing director Zoran Bebic said.
