NAB promotes Connie Sokaris to group chief risk officer
The news: Big four lender NAB has named longtime executive Connie Sokaris as its next group chief risk officer.
The context: Sokaris has held a range of senior roles since joining the bank in 2003, including a stint in the corporate and institutional banking division, and most recently leading its enterprise credit and market risk segment.
She replaces Shaun Dooley who in February announced his intention to retire from NAB by the end of the year. Sokaris will start the role on 3 August, subject to regulatory approvals.
What they said: “Connie is a highly motivated and talented leader who has exceptional judgment, drives outcomes and always puts the customer at the centre of her thinking,” said NAB chief executive Andrew Irvine.
“Connie’s appointment again demonstrates the depth of talent and capability we are building within NAB.”
