Neuren reports higher Q1 sales for US drug
The news: Neuren Pharmaceuticals says US sales of its Retts syndrome treatment drug, Daybue, were higher in the first quarter, with strong potential for future growth.
The numbers: Neuren said March quarter sales for Daybue rose 11% in the US to USD84.6 million ($131.6 million), based on reporting by its US partner Acadia Pharmaceuticals. Full-year sales guidance remains at USD380 million to USD405 million.
Based on this, Neuren expects to receive first quarter royalties of $13.5 million and full-year payment of between $62 million and $67 million for 2025.
The context: The Melbourne-based Neuren said the number of unique patients receiving Daybue rose 4% to 954 in the first quarter, and patients, volumes and net sales in the US are expected to increase through the year.
“There is substantial potential for future growth in the US with two-thirds of the 5,500 to 5,800 diagnosed Rett patients yet to try Daybue,” Neuren said. The drug was launched in April 2023. Acadia holds exclusive rights to develop and commercialise trofinetide globally and is anticipating approval of the marketing application in Europe in Q1 of 2026, the company said.
