The news: The ASX added 100 new listings with a combined market value of $32.6 billion in the year ended June, the highest number since 2022.

The numbers: New listings rose 45% from the previous year but remained well below the decade-high 217 recorded in 2022 and the 10-year average of 116.

The market value of new listings was up 86% on 2025 at $32.6 billion, while the amount raised through IPOs was unchanged at $5.6 billion.

Existing listed companies raised $37.8 billion in follow-on capital, up 20% from 2025. But net new capital quoted, which subtracts the value lost through delistings from all new capital added, rose only 4.2% to $37.1 billion.

What they said: ASX general manager of listings James Posnett said activity was returning towards the long-run average despite a challenging macroeconomic backdrop.

“The recovery in IPO activity, strong follow-on capital raisings and significant increase in international listings all point to the depth and resilience of Australia’s public markets,” he said.
