NextDC appoints AirAsia chair Jamaludin Ibrahim as director
The news: Data centre business NextDC has appointed AirAsia Aviation Group chair Jamaludin Ibrahim as a non-executive director, effective 1 November 2025.
The context: Ibrahim has more than 40 years of executive experience in the IT and telecommunications sector, of which 27 years has been in chief executive roles. This includes as group CEO of Axiata Group and CEO of Maxis Communications.
He is currently also the chair of fast food business QSR Brands and sits on the board of SEEK.
Ibrahim was previously chair of Malaysia’s state owned public transport company Prasarana Malaysia Berhad and was previously a member of the Malaysian government’s economic action council and digital economy council.
What they said: “We are very pleased to welcome Mr Ibrahim to NextDC. He has a wealth of business and key sector experience highly relevant to our ambitions, and we look forward to learning from and harnessing his insights as we expand our business into Asia,” NextDC chair Douglas Flynn said.
