The news: NRW Holdings has announced its NRW Civil and Mining arm has secured a contract from Rio Tinto to deliver construction services at the Brockman Syncline One mine development.
The numbers: The contract is valued at about $167 million and will involve a peak workforce of more than 300 people.
The context: NRW will be responsible for the construction of earthworks, roadworks and drainage associated with the primary crusher, overland conveyor and non-process infrastructure. It will also oversee construction of haul roads, access roads and concrete structures.
The Brockman Syncline One project is near existing NRW construction sites such as the Brockman Four to Brockman Two Haul Road contract and the recently completed Western Turner Northern Access Road.
What they said: “This is another significant project that NRW will undertake for Rio Tinto continues to build on the longstanding relationship of delivering successful projects together,” NRW Holdings said in a statement to the ASX.
