The news: Oracle has launched a new AI customer excellence centre in Sydney to help businesses adopt and implement next-gen cloud and AI technology through training, certification and pilot initiatives.

The tech giant also announced that Oracle AI database services are now available on AWS in the ANZ region, joining Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud services.

The context: The centre aims to provide support to Oracle customers to test early-stage AI technologies through Oracle cloud infrastructure and third-party technologies as well as proof of concepts for AI adoption.

The centre will provide organisations with access to training and certification on AI and cloud technologies through Oracle University and other partners.

What they said: Oracle regional managing director ANZ Stephen Bovis said: “You’ll be able to work hands on with Oracle technologies alongside our selected partners to reduce complexity, accelerate decision making and bring solutions to market much faster.”

“Now, whilst the center is physically based here in Sydney, the capability is not the IP the expertise and the experience are all very portable across the region. So, we can bring this to wherever you are, within Australia, New Zealand or the Pacific,” he said.

Royal Flying Doctor Service executive general manager, chief information officer Ryan Klose, said: “Access to a local Centre of Excellence gives us a practical environment to experiment, learn, and validate AI solutions in real-world conditions before committing to broader deployment”.
