Perpetual receives improved $2.6b takeover offer from EQT
The news: EQT-controlled Windflower has increased its takeover offer for financial services group Perpetual for a second time, after its previous proposal was knocked back earlier this month.
The numbers: Windflower’s new offer of $22.50 per share represents a 2% increase to its previous bid of $22.07, and a 4% increase on its original offer of $21.64.
Perpetual shares last closed at $18.92.
The context: Perpetual said its board is assessing the Swedish private equity firm’s new proposal with its financial and legal advisers.
