Perseus Mining COO Amanda Weir resigns

The news: Gold company Perseus Mining has announced that its chief operating officer Amanda Weir has resigned.

The numbers: Weir was appointed COO of the Perth-based miner in April 2024, after stints at fellow gold producers Newmont and Evolution Mining. She previously spent nearly a decade at mining giant BHP.

The context: Perseus said its current general manager of operations, Brett Hartmann, will assume interim responsibilities while the company "considers its longer-term leadership options." Hartmann has been with Perseus since April last year.
