Perseus Mining names former AngloGold Ashanti executive as new COO

The news: Perseus Mining has appointed Wade Bickley as its new chief operating officer, effective 1 June, with the role based in the company’s Dubai office.

The context: The miner stated that Bickley brings over 25 years of industry experience across Australia, West Africa and Southern Africa.

Prior to the appointment, he served as COO at Appian Capital Base Metals.

He has held numerous previous leadership roles, including as general manager of the Obuasi Mine in Ghana for AngloGold Ashanti, head of underground mining for Anglo American, and executive head of mining technical at Anglo American Platinum.

What they said: “Wade has deep experience across mining, processing and production optimisation, and major capital project execution in complex, multi-jurisdictional African environments,” Perseus CEO Craig Jones said.

“We look forward to Wade applying his extensive operational expertise to drive performance and outcomes across our portfolio,” he added.
