The news: Pinnacle Investment Management Group and gold miner Perseus Mining have been added to the ASX 100 as a part of S&P/ASX indices changes, effective prior to market open on 23 June, announced by S&P Dow Jones Indices.

The context: As a result of the June quarterly review Pinnacle and Perseus have knocked uranium miner Paladin Energy and gas company Viva Energy out of the S&P/ASX 100 index, which captures the 100 largest companies on the exchange.

Meanwhile, healthcare provider Healius and coal miner Stanmore Resources have dropped out of the ASX 200 in favour of ship builder Austal and furniture retailer Nick Scali.

Gold miner Evolution Mining has replaced lithium miner Pilbara Minerals on the ASX 50 while logistics business Brambles has knocked construction materials firm James Hardie Industries out of the ASX 20.
