The news: Retail brands operator Premier Investments has reported a 0.4% rise in interim profit from continuing operations, to $101.7 million, for the 26 weeks to 24 January 2026. Profit from discontinued operations slumped 13.1% year on year.

The numbers: Half-year earnings before interest and tax came in at $119.3 million, while total revenue and other income increased 3% to $479.7 million. Free cashflow was at $360.1 million.

The company declared a fully franked interim dividend of 45 cents per share.

The context: Chairman Solomon Lew attributed the interim result to strong sales performance in sleepwear brand Peter Alexander, driven by its loyal customer base and ongoing domestic and international expansion.

Children’s stationery retailer Smiggle also recorded solid multi-channel sales, as the group focuses on brand elevation in the second half of the year.

The board has confirmed a 12-month on-market share buyback of up to $100 million, announced in December 2025.

Premier Investments expects full-year FY26 underlying earnings before interest and tax of around $183 million.
