The news: ASX-listed Pro Medicus’ wholly owned US subsidiary Visage Imaging has launched a diagnostic imaging app for Apple Vision Pro, Apple’s spatial computing platform.

The context: The app, Visage Ease VP, provides volume-rendered diagnostic images in an immersive space. This could help improve efficiency in tumour board reviews and create collaborative spaces in healthcare, associate clinical professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine and radiologist Dr Paul Murphy said in a Pro Medicus statement. The company's share price jumped on the news, rising 4.4% to $109.42 at 11.55am AEDT. The stock is up 13.3% over the year.

What they said: “The visualisation of three-dimensional medical imaging in immersive spaces creates exciting opportunities to improve patient care,” Murphy said.

“Technology that allows for sophisticated eye motion and gesture controls for reviewing 2D and 3D medical imaging could potentially help in efficient tumour board reviews and create collaborative spaces in healthcare.”
