The news: Health imaging company Pro Medicus has struck a new deal with large US medical group Duly Health to roll out its Visage products throughout the American Midwest.

The deal is worth $30 million over seven years, Pro Medicus said in its announcement.

The context: Duly Health and Care is a Midwestern medical group that encompasses over 150 clinics, 1,000 physicians and 40 radiologists.

The agreement grants them access to Pro Medicus' Visage 7 system, a tool used by radiologists to read and analyse X-rays, CT scans and other medical imagery.

The deal was signed through Pro Medicus' US subsidiary, Visage Imaging. It is the latest in a flurry of agreements Pro Medicus has made in the US. The biggest of the lot was last month's announcement of a $330 million contract with Trinity Health, which runs 93 hospitals and 142 urgent care centres.

In its last annual earnings report, given in August, Pro Medicus posted a net profit of $82.8 million, up 36.5% year on year, and revenue of $161 million.

What they said: Pro Medicus CEO Sam Hupert said: "Duly Health and Care is an important deal for us as they are in the private radiology/outpatient space, an area of the market where we are starting to see increased opportunity."

“They also join a long list of Visage 7 clients to opt for a fully cloud-engineered solution, which, as a result of our CloudPACS strategy, is becoming the standard in the North American healthcare IT market.”
