Ramsay Health Care appoints interim CFO
The news: Ramsay Health Care has named deputy CFO Mike Hirner as the interim replacement for outgoing chief financial officer Martyn Roberts.
The numbers: The company said Roberts will finish his role at the end of April. He will leave Ramsay after five years at the company to pursue other opportunities, it had announced in January.
The context: Australia's largest private hospital operator said Hirner will assume the acting group CFO role from 1 May while the recruitment process for a permanent CFO is underway.
Earlier this year, Ramsay announced the departure of Roberts and Australia boss Carmel Monaghan, as part of a leadership restructure under new managing director and group CEO Natalie Davis. The new structure includes two new senior roles — a chief operating officer and a chief commercial officer — both reporting to Davis.
