REA Group CFO Janelle Hopkins to retire, succeeded by News Corp exec
The news: Property listing business REA Group has announced that its chief financial officer Janelle Hopkins will retire on 11 February 2026 to transition into a non-executive career.
She will be succeeded by News Corp deputy CFO Andrew Cramer, who is currently in New York, effective 12 February 2026.
The context: Hopkins has had a more than 25 year executive career, including seven years as REA CFO. She is expected to remain available to support a “seamless transition” after she steps down from the CFO role, according to REA Group.
Prior to joining News Corp in 2019, Cramer spent more than eight years as Citi’s head of technology, media and telecommunications investment banking for Australia and New Zealand. He also previously spent four years at Macquarie Group.
Cramer has also been on the board of DAZN since April 2025.
What they said: “Even in my short time at REA, it’s clear to me the significant impact Janelle has made on the business. As CFO, she has ensured our financial strength and disciplined capital management while helping drive a period of transformative growth,” REA Group CEO Cameron McIntyre said.
McIntyre also said he is “delighted” to welcome Cramer as REA’s new CFO given he has “extensive global experience, strong financial expertise and a strategic perspective that will be invaluable as we continue to grow and deliver for our customers”.
