Region Group appoints Greg Cubb as CEO

The news: Shopping centre owner Region Group CEO has appointed Greg Chubb as its CEO and managing director, who will begin in March 2026.
The context: Region Group announced on 18 August that incumbent CEO Anthony Mellowes had given his nine months notice, in line with contractual obligations, of his intention to retire.
Mellowes will stay with the company until May 2026 but will “step back from day-to-day operational activities” once Chubb begins.
Chubb is currently chief operating officer of Link REIT where he oversees management of Link’s Hong Kong, Mainland China, Australia and Singapore Regional Centres.
Prior to joining Link in 2022 he worked at Charter Hall Group, including as retail CEO and executive director of Charter Hall Retail REIT. Chubb has also previously worked at Coles, Mirvac and Lendlease.
