Regis Healthcare buys care home operator Rockpool for $135m

The news: Aged care provider Regis Healthcare has agreed to buy privately owned rival Rockpool for $135 million.

The numbers: The deal will see Regis acquire Rockpool's four residential aged care homes, comprising 600 beds, in locations across Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

Regis' portfolio will increase to 72 homes and approximately 8,200 beds.

The context: The purchase, which is set to be funded from existing cash, is expected to complete on 1 September. Regis said it is expected to be earnings-per-share accretive in fiscal 2026, with further growth expected in future years.

What they said: "This acquisition aligns with our strategy to broaden our residential aged care footprint through the acquisition of premium homes," said Regis managing director and CEO Linda Mellors.
