Regis Healthcare co-founder Bryan Dorman to retire
The news: Regis Healthcare's co-founder Bryan Dorman will retire as a non-executive director at the aged care services provider's annual general meeting on 26 November.
The numbers: Regis said Dorman has chosen to retire after more than 30 years with the company to spend more time with his family and to focus on philanthropy.
The context: Dorman co-founded Regis with fellow non-executive director Ian Roberts in the 1990s and grew the business to more than 1,500 beds by 2007.
Bryan was executive chair of Regis until 2008 and then non-executive chair until the company's initial public offering and listing in 2014.
What they said: "On behalf of the board, I thank Bryan for his leadership and immense contribution to Regis," chair Graham Hodges said.
"His dedication and commercial insight have been integral to the expansion and success of Regis.
"Bryan played an important role in our successful merger with Retirement Care Australia and spearheaded the listing of Regis."
Dorman said: "I'm honoured to have been involved with Regis from the start, and I am confident in our future and our ability to stay at the forefront of aged care services in Australia".
"The business is in the hand of an excellent management team and staff and the expected enactment of the new aged care legislation will introduce meaningful improvements for aged care providers and clients across Australia," Dorman said.
