The news: Aged care services provider Regis Healthcare has agreed to buy privately owned home care operator BodeWell Community Care, expanding its footprint in Victoria and south east Queensland.

The numbers: Regis said the deal will see its home care business double to around $30 million in revenue with more than 2,500 clients.

The context: The acquisition will be funded from existing cash with completion expected in the fourth quarter of FY25. The deal remains subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.

What they said: "BodeWell is a well-regarded home care service which enhances Regis' existing operations by providing greater scale in Melbourne and extending operations into south east Queensland," said Regis CEO Linda Mellors.

"We expect the expanded home care business will benefit from an ageing population, increased government funding, and the shift in consumer preference to age in place."
