Resolute Mining COO Geoff Montgomery steps down
The news: Gold miner Resolute Mining has announced that its chief operating officer Geoff Montgomery will step down from the role, four months after the abrupt departure of CEO Terry Holohan.
Resolute has appointed Gavin Harris, general manager at South African gold producer AngloGold Ashanti, as its new COO.
The context: Montgomery, who has served as Resolute COO since 2022, will remain with the company as a senior technical adviser.
His successor, Harris, has spent six years in senior management roles at AngloGold Ashanti, following stints at Barrick, BHP and Teranga Gold.
