Santos CEO Kevin Gallagher to temporarily delegate some functions
The news: Oil and gas producer Santos’ board has approved a flexible working arrangement for Managing Director & CEO Kevin Gallagher while he attends to a family member’s medical treatment.
The numbers: Gallagher will delegate some non-strategic day-to-day functions to the executive leadership team until the end of the year and step back from several external commitments.
The context: The group said Mr Gallagher will continue to lead the Santos executive leadership team in overseeing the key growth initiatives and strategic imperatives over this period. External commitments to be delegated will include participation in industry bodies, conferences and extended overseas or domestic travel, enabling him to spend more of his time in Adelaide to attend to family commitments.
What they said: “Mr Gallagher has the full backing of the Board to manage his time to enable him to be available to support his family through a period of intense medical treatment and, with the support of the executive leadership team, be able to continue to lead Santos,” Santos Chair Keith Spence said.
