The news: Oil giant Santos has announced that its chief financial officer Sherry Duhe has resigned from the company. She will be replaced by deputy CFO Lachlan Harris in an acting capacity.

The context: Duhe - who joined Santos as CFO in September last year following leadership roles at Woodside Energy and Newcrest Mining - will leave the company to "pursue other interests", managing director and CEO Kevin Gallagher said.

New acting CFO Harris joined Santos from KPMG in 2010 and has served as the company's treasurer and deputy CFO for more than two years.

What they said: "Sherry has made a significant contribution in her time at Santos, leading the structural cost reduction initiative over the past year and implementing a number of other business improvements, particularly in the long-term planning and budget processes," said Gallagher.
