Soul Patts and Brickworks shares to stop trading after finalising merger
The news: Soul Patts and Brickworks shares will trade on the ASX for the last time today after shareholders voted overwhelmingly in favour of a $14 billion merger last week.
The context: The deal became legally effective after Soul Patts and Brickworks lodged copies of Supreme Court orders with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
The merged company will trade as Topco from Tuesday on a deferred settlement basis, and a normal settlement basis from 24 September.
After share scheme settlement the merged company will be renamed Washington H. Soul Pattinson and Company, and trade under the SOL ticker.
