SpaceX set to be world's second-most valuable private company at $315b: Bloomberg
The news: Elon Musk's space and satellite company SpaceX will sell insider shares at USD112 ($168) each in a tender offer, pushing the company's valuation to USD210 billion, Bloomberg reported.
The numbers: SpaceX, which was last valued at USD180 billion in December, decided to price its tender offer higher than the USD200 billion valuation discussed last month, people familiar with the matter said.
The new valuation leaves SpaceX as the world's second most valuable private company, only behind TikTok parent company ByteDance at USD268 billion.
The context: SpaceX raised its tender offer, which enables employees and investors to sell shares, due to significant investor demand, the anonymous sources told Bloomberg.
The terms of the tender offer aren't finalised, and its size still relies on interest from both insider sellers and buyers.
