The news: The Star Entertainment Group’s Gold Coast chief executive Mark Mackay has resigned effective immediately after three months in the role.
The context: Mackay joined The Star Gold Coast in September 2024 after moving from rival Crown, where he was chief operating officer of its Melbourne Casino. Prior to that, Mackay was COO at The Star Gold Coast.
Star said it has started a process to recruit for the role.
What they said: Star group CEO and managing director Steve McCann said: “We thank Mark Mackay for his assistance and wish him well for the future”.
