The news: Ampol and Stockland have signed an agreement to roll out electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Stockland's shopping centres across Australia.

The numbers: Under the deal, more than 100 AmpCharge units will be installed across 16 retail town centres. Each centre will have an average of 12 charging bays, capable of filling an EV battery in 60 minutes.

The context: Ampol is rolling out a national EV charging network at a combination of its own service station forecourts and through partnerships with property owners. This includes 110 fast charging bays at 19 of its own sites.

The company has committed to installing over 300 AmpCharge EV charging bays at more than 100 Australian sites by the end of 2024.
