Suncorp Bank names home lending EGM Bruce Rush as new CEO
The news: Suncorp Bank has a new chief executive in Bruce Rush, the bank's home lending executive general manager and a former acting CEO.
The numbers: Following regulatory approvals, Rush will take the reins from 4 December, with outgoing chief executive Clive van Horen then set to exit the bank on the 24th.
The context: Suncorp Group is in the midst of selling Suncorp Bank to ANZ pending a challenge to the ACCC, which initially rejected the deal on the basis that it could disadvantage Queenslanders. If the appeal is successful and the takeover passes the approvals process, the transaction should be completed in mid-2024.
What they said: "[Rush] will provide continuity and stability in leadership in the current environment, particularly as the process remains underway to sell Suncorp Bank to ANZ,” Suncorp Group chief executive Steve Johnston said in a statement.
