The news: Super Retail Group is facing a workplace lawsuit from its former chief legal officer Rebecca Farrell over her dismissal from the company.

In an update to the ASX today, Super Retail said it had anticipated legal action from two employees but instead is facing a lawsuit from Farrell only.

The context: According to reports in The Australian, Farrell is seeking to enforce a settlement agreement linked to her dismissal, alleging she was bullied and harassed prior to her dismissal after raising governance concerns at the company.

Claims linked to the case include allegations of an affair between Super Retail chief executive officer Anthony Heraghty, who is named in the case, and his former head of human resources.

Harmers Workplace Lawyers is acting for Farrell in the workplace dispute, which was filed to the Federal Court on 29 July.

What they said: Super Retail has said it "does not accept the claims that are set out in the statement of claim. As previously announced, Super Retail Group will defend these court proceedings in relation to these matters."
