Super Retail Group names ex Officeworks director Sarah Hunter as CFO

The news: Super Retail Group has appointed Sarah Hunter as its new chief financial officer (CFO), succeeding long-serving CFO David Burns, effective 1 June.

The context: Hunter brings more than 15 years of retail leadership to the role, according to the company. She previously served as the managing director of Officeworks and was a long serving member of the Wesfarmers leadership team. Her prior experience also includes senior roles at Coles including serving as the financial controller of Coles Group.

Super Retail also announced the appointment of Ben McConnell as the managing director of Supercheap Auto, effective immediately.

Former Oroton CEO Jenny Child was also appointed as the managing director of Rebel, succeeding Gary Williams, effective 1 June.

The company confirmed that outgoing CFO David Burns will remain in his role until 28 August and is set to retire in November.
