The news: Super Retail Group has appointed the boss of its outdoor retail brand BCF, Paul Bradshaw, as its new group managing director and chief executive, effective 1 November.

The announcement comes five weeks after Anthony Heraghty was fired from the role following his relationship with the company’s former chief human resources officer.

The context: Bradshaw is currently managing director of Super Retail's boating, camping and fishing retailer BCF, having joined the group in 2019.

He will be replaced by BCF's current general manager for retail operations Michael Wassman.

Interim CEO David Burns will return to his role as chief financial officer on 1 November.

What they said: "Under Paul's leadership since 2019, BCF's sales have grown 85% and profit before tax has increased almost threefold," said Super Retail chair Judith Swales.

"The board is confident Paul will lead Super Retail Group into its next phase of growth, providing for continuity of strategy and execution, while remaining true to our vision and values."
