Endeavour Group poaches Supercheap Auto's Benjamin Ward as next Dan Murphy's MD

More news: Drinks company Endeavour Group has announced that departed Supercheap Auto boss Benjamin Ward has been appointed the new managing director of Dan Murphy's, starting 27 January 2026.
Ward's appointment follows Agi Pfeiffer-Smith's resignation from Dan Murphy's after five years with the group.
Pfeiffer-Smith, who was previously the group's chief strategy officer during its demerger from Woolworths, will remain in the role until the end of March 2026.
Endeavour Group has also appointed Qantas executive Catriona Larritt to the newly created role of chief customer officer. The position will integrate Endeavour's marketing, customer insights, digital, eCommerce, data & AI, and loyalty segments as part of the group's refreshed customer strategy.
Supercheap Auto boss Benjamin Ward resigns
The news: Super Retail Group has announced that Benjamin Ward, managing director of the company's automotive parts retailer Supercheap Auto, has resigned with immediate effect.
The context: Ward was appointed in the role in July 2019, following two decades with supermarket group ALDI.
Supercheap Auto's general manager for retail operations Ben McConnell has been picked as Ward's interim replacement.
What they said: "I would like to thank Benjamin for his contribution to the group," said Super Retail managing director and CEO Paul Bradshaw.
"On behalf of everyone at Super Retail Group I wish Benjamin every success as he pursues future opportunities."
