Tabcorp appoints Brett Chenoweth as chair
The news: Tabcorp has appointed Brett Chenoweth as its new chair, succeeding Bruce Akhurst who will retire at the company’s annual general meeting on 23 October.
The context: Chenoweth has been a non-executive director at Tabcorp since 2022 and is currently chair of the risk, compliance and sustainability committee.
He was the former chief executive and managing director of APN News and Media, and is a director of EVT.
Tabcorp said Akhurst will remain a director and will perform additional executive responsibilities through to the end of the calendar year, while managing director and CEO-elect Gillon McLachlan undergoes the required regulatory approvals process.
Non-executive director Justin Milne will also retire from the board once the appointment of a new non-executive director is made.
