Telstra confirms interest in cloud consulting firm Versent
The news: Telstra has confirmed it is in talks to purchase cloud consulting company Versent but says there's no certainty a deal will take place.
The numbers: The Australian Financial Review reported on Thursday that Telstra was preparing to table an offer worth $400 million for the Melbourne-based cloud transformation and consulting group.
The context: Australia’s biggest telecoms firm confirmed it was interested in Versent but said there was no guarantee of a deal materialising. "Telstra confirms it is participating in the process. References to the value of the offer are speculative," the telco said. "There is no certainty a transaction involving Telstra will eventuate, should a transaction be finalised Telstra will update the market accordingly," it told investors.
