Rokt exec Terry Bowen to retire from Coles board
The news: Coles director Terry Bowen will retire from the board of the supermarket giant effective 15 October 2025 as he transitions into a full-time executive role at New York-based ecommerce unicorn Rokt.
Bowen has been serving remotely as Rokt president and chief operating officer since July 2025, according to his LinkedIn profile.
The context: Bowen was initially expected to retire from the Coles board around late February 2024 to take on a senior executive role at Rokt.
However, Coles said on 27 February 2024 that Bowen’s retirement was deferred “as he was unable to relocate to the US due to personal reasons”. Instead, Bowen joined Rokt as a non-executive director.
Between 2007 and 2008, Bowen was chief financial officer of Coles and rejoined the company as a non-executive director in October 2022. As a director he has been a member of the risk committee and the nomination committee.
Bowen was also formerly the chief financial officer of Jetstar between 2003 and 2005 where he worked with Rokt founder Bruce Buchanan, who was Jetstar’s chief commercial officer at the time.
What they said: “Terry has made a significant contribution to Coles and brought a great deal of knowledge and expertise,” Coles chair Peter Allen said.
“On behalf of the board, I extend our thanks to Terry for his engagement and service as a director.”
