TPG Telecom to front Senate committee over Triple Zero outages

The news: TPG Telecom has confirmed it will appear at a Senate committee related to Triple Zero outages and resilience today.

The context: TPG is currently under investigation by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) after two incidents where customers could not call Triple Zero on a Samsung device due to out-of-date software.

TPG said it was made aware on Monday that one of those incidents may have been connected to an individual who lost their life.

"We have sought to clarify the circumstances, but details have not yet been verified by relevant emergency authorities," the company said.
