Trump reportedly shared US nuke submarine info with Australia’s Pratt
The news: Former US President Donald Trump allegedly shared potentially sensitive information about US nuclear submarines with Australian billionaire Anthony Pratt, according to America’s ABC News network.
The numbers: Months after leaving the White House, Trump told Pratt two pieces of information about the US submarines: the supposed exact number of nuclear warheads they routinely carry, and how close they can get to a Russian submarine without being detected, ABC News said, citing undisclosed sources. Pratt is alleged to have described Trump's remarks to at least 45 others, including journalists, his company's employees and Australian officials.
The context: The potential disclosure was reported to special counsel Jack Smith's team as they investigated Trump's alleged hoarding of classified documents at his Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago. The information could shed further light on Trump's handling of sensitive government secrets. Pratt, who runs the US-based packaging business Pratt Industries, has been interviewed by prosecutors and FBI agents at least twice this year, the report said.
