Trump returns home after surrendering to Atlanta jail
The news: Former US president Donald Trump has returned home after handing himself into an Atlanta jail to be booked on multiple felony charges related to his attempts to overturn his 2020 election loss in Georgia.
The numbers: At least 10 of Trump's 19 co-defendants have been booked, according to Reuters. Trump is the first former US president to face criminal charges, which include other cases in in New York, Florida and a third in Federal Court in Washington, DC. Trump spent about 20 minutes at Fulton County Jail before his motorcade returned him to his private jet at Hartsfield-Jackson airport.
