Ventia partners with OpenAI to deploy AI tools
The news: Infrastructure services group Ventia has partnered with OpenAI to test new AI use cases across its safety, asset management, field operations, customer service and internal operations.
An OpenAI spokesperson said it would not be disclosing financial terms.
The context: Staff at the more than $5 billion ASX-listed company will have access to ChatGPT Enterprise and OpenAI’s API platform, with the hope that the new capabilities will reduce time taken to move from concept to production.
Ventia is also working with OpenAI-owned consulting firm Tomoro.ai to develop a bid management capability that can help improve bid quality, hasten turnaround times and increase win rates. Early trials saw the use of AI coding tool Codex to build a supply partner portal.
The company is also looking beyond corporate functions to help reduce administrative burden for field teams. According to OpenAI, the tools will extend to Ventia’s field workforce of more than 15,000.
What they said: “By working with OpenAI, we’re giving our teams practical access to advanced tools that can help them work more safely and efficiently, make faster decisions and unlock new ways to improve service delivery across complex environments,” Ventia group executive for innovation and transformation Derek Osborn said.
OpenAI’s go-to-market lead for Australia and New Zealand Satya Tammareddy said: “We’re pleased to work with Ventia to bring advanced AI to one of the region’s largest essential services organisations”.
