The news: Ventia has secured a five-year contract extension, valued at about $133 million, to manage and operate the Western Australian-based Australian Marine Complex-Common User Facility (AMC-CUF).

The context: The renewed extension will commence on 1 July 2027, following the completion of the current term.

Ventia has been operating the AMC-CUF on behalf of the Western Australian state government since 2022 to develop the facility into a key national hub for shipbuilding and maritime sustainment, supporting large-scale industries and Australia’s sovereign defence capabilities.

What they said: “Henderson is a critical hub for Australia’s maritime capability, and we are well positioned to support its next phase and to capture future opportunities as they develop,” Ventia CEO Dean Banks said.
