Ventia wins $564m contract with Defence

The news: Ventia has announced it will continue working with defence with a new six year contract worth $564 million for fire fighting services.

The context: The deal has an option for extension beyond 2030.

Ventia, which has the largest privatised firefighting force in Australia, has been working with Defence since 1999. The new contract encompasses firefighting services across airfield and Hazmat response, structural and bushfire, emergency services, and fire training.

The Ventia team has grown to 309 qualified firefighters.

What they said: “This contract is testament to the commitment and value we generate by protecting those that train to protect us,” Ventia executive of defence and social infrastructure Derek Osborne said.

“We are very proud to further strengthen our partnership with Defence with this new contract and retaining our role delivering these services.”
