Vicinity Centres appoints Patrick Allaway as chair, Trevor Gerber retires

The news: Trevor Gerber has announced his retirement, effective 28 October, after serving as chair of Vicinity Centres since 2019. The board has appointed Patrick Allaway as his successor.

The context: Allaway will join the company’s board as an independent non-executive director and chair-elect, effective 15 June, succeeding Gerber who is retiring after serving for the company for 11 years.

Allaway brings over 30 years of experience in financial markets and capital markets as well as corporate advisory. He previously chaired the Bank of Queensland and has served as a non-executive director for Allianz Australia, Dexus Funds, Metcash and David Jones, among others.

What they said: “Peter’s leadership has been exemplary. His strategic clarity and consistency of execution have been the engine of this business, and it has been a privilege to work alongside him,” Gerber said.
